Education in the 21st Century “Teaching For Understanding”

Education in the 21^st Century Carnival was organized and held in Batu Lintang Teachers’ Institution Campus on the 3^rd April until 22^nd April 2017.

SK Lumba Kuda was one of the schools invited to join the activities held on the 22^nd April 2017, which was the last day of the programme.The theme and the rationales of the programme are follows:

Theme: “Teaching For Understanding”

 R ationales: i) To promote fun-learning among the pupils and the teacher.

                        ii) The pupils can enjoy themselves while participate in the activities.

iii) To promote creativity and to instill Higher Order Thinking Skills

     (HOTS) among the pupils.

1.         Registration and launching of the events.

2.       Visit to the Ballang Lasong Gymnasium.

One of our students (Gilbert) took part in the activities carried out by the trainee teacher from the Physical and Education Department.

3.       Tapak Perkhemahan KLM29.

The pupils enjoyed singing and they took part in some of the activities held by the Boys’ Scouts.

4.       Dewan Brooke.

Here, the pupils were introduced to the different approaches of ‘PdPC’ held by the different Language departments.

5.       Lecture Block B.

This was where our students took part in the Science Subject activities and also the Interactive Language Game held by the English Language Panel.

6.       Dataran Muzium Mini.

This was the last booth we visited. The pupils spent a few minutes here just to see at what was displayed. They did not have time to join the interactive PdPC here as we were running out of time. The pupils were tired and we were ready to go back. We were not there to join the closing ceremony as it was held quite late in the afternoon. We went back to school at around 2.30 p.m.
